Custom Fit for Maximum Control

A kayak becomes an extension of your body while paddling. To take full advantage of the added performance of a Prijon touring kayak, you must have the proper fit. Prijon touring kayaks come with adjustable thighbraces, on-the-fly adjustable backbrace, gas pedal footbraces and ergonomic seats that fit your curves.

  • Adjustable Backbrace - Prijon adjustable backbraces expand lower back support for added comfort and powerful paddle strokes. The adjustable backbrace can be fitted into place on the fly. You simply pull down on the adjusting cord and cinch down into the clam cleat before or during paddle trips.
  • Ergonomic Seats - All Prijon touring boats come with water bottle holders and some are adjustable. The depth of the seat and rise lowers your center of gravity and minimizes the amount of strain on your lower thigh.
  • Gas Pedal Footbraces - Prijon gas pedal footbraces provide, at all times, a solid foot platform for added paddling leverage and comfort. The gas pedal footbraces lock into the rails by pulling on a pin and then simply sliding on the rail. When the rudder is engaged the pedal is in a vertical position. The range of motion is 1” to 1.5”. The rudder blade moves by placing pressure on the top of the pedal. The motion of the pedal is similar to the gas pedal on your car.
  • Outfitting Kit - The provided seat and thigh foam can be placed anywhere your body makes contact with the boat. Just peel and stick.
  • Adjustable Thighbraces - Adjustable thighbraces provide maximum thigh and knee control. This control allows the boat to react at your command and makes bracing and rolling easy. All Prijon touring kayaks include an Allen wrench tucked within the cockpit combing.
  • Hatches/Dry Storage - Our flush hatches feature neoprene, hard plastic and quick-release webbing straps for the driest seal available. Sealed with bulkheads that provide flotation and plenty of gear storage.
  • Internal Deck Pack Nets - Inside the cockpit of some models, there are Deck Pack Nets for quick storage and accessibility to a variety of items.
  • Recessed Fittings - A nice touch coupled with stainless hardware that keeps wear-and -tear to a minimum.
  • Safety Deck Line - Stock on several models, the safety deck line provides lashing points to attach additional gear and can be used for self-rescue.
  • Deck Pack Nets - Conveniently placed on Prijon boats for quick storage of bilge pumps, paddle floats and other small essential items. A favorite amongst many touring paddlers.
  • Carrying Handles - Our carrying handles fit ergonomically in your hand for easy loading

Trihedral Hull Advantages

Our Trihedral hull style is designed with three surfaces. The flat bottom section of the hull provides maximum stability and unmatched tracking. Loaded down the primary stability and tracking increase even more. The two beveled sections, or angled sides, maximize your secondary stability and increase your ability to carve a turn. Comfortably carving turns in a touring kayak is unique with the trihedral hull design.
